My Story
I discovered triathlon in 1983 at age 13, competing in my first race when the sport was still relatively unknown. From that moment, I was hooked.
Over the past 40+ years, I've experienced triathlon from every angle: as a young competitor finding my stride, an age-group athlete chasing podiums, and now as a masters athlete proving that age is just a number.
At 57 years old, I'm still actively competing and podiuming in my age group. This isn't just about winning—it's about proving to myself and others that with smart training, dedication, and the right approach, we can continue to perform at high levels throughout our lives.
My decades of experience have taught me what works, what doesn't, and how to adapt training for different life stages, injury histories, and time constraints. This wisdom is what I bring to every athlete I coach.
Coaching Philosophy
My approach combines time-tested training principles with modern data analysis, always keeping your individual needs at the center.
Goal-Oriented Training
Every workout has a purpose. We design your plan around your specific race goals, timeline, and current fitness level.
Data-Driven Decisions
Modern training is about smart work, not just hard work. We analyze your power, heart rate, and performance metrics to optimize your training.
Age-Group & Masters Focus
As a 57-year-old athlete myself, I understand the unique needs of masters athletes and how to train effectively at every age.
Sustainable Approach
Training should fit your life, not consume it. We balance ambition with recovery, family, and career commitments.
What Sets Me Apart
Real-World Experience
I'm not a coach who stopped competing years ago. I train and race alongside my athletes, facing the same challenges with recovery, time management, and staying motivated. This current, lived experience informs every plan I create.
Masters Athlete Specialist
As a 57-year-old athlete, I understand the physiological changes that come with age and how to train effectively despite them. Recovery takes longer, but with smart planning, we can continue to improve and compete at high levels.
Balanced Perspective
Triathlon should enhance your life, not take it over. I help you achieve ambitious goals while maintaining balance with family, career, and other commitments. Sustainable training leads to long-term success.
Let's Work Together
Whether you're preparing for your first triathlon or chasing a personal record, I'd love to help you reach your goals.
